Aquilegia alpina

Not as small as the name suggests, this Colombine makes a bold show. Bold, violet to deep blue flowers appear in late spring. Up to 30cm in flower with a spread of 15-25cm. Lovely plant which can self-seed. The resulting colours may vary especially if near other Aquilegias. Will put up with most conditions preferring some shelter from full sun.
