 How to buy online
Find what you want - Best to start on the home page (button near the top of each web page). Click on any of the categories in the right hand panel. Each category will take you to either a list of pre-selected gift or garden packs or lead to our more exhaustive lists of individual cottage garden plants.  Alternatively if you want to find a particular plant use the search button near the top of the page, type in the plant name or part of it and click on search. This will bring up a list of all the areas where these plants are listed on our site. Prices shown include VAT.
Put it in the trolley - The next stage is to add the items you would like to buy into the shopping trolley. You do this by clicking onto the 'add to trolley' button that appears on the screen next to the item you wish to buy. You are then automatically shown the current contents of your trolley. At this point your can changes quantities, delete items, recalculate the bill or click on the continue shopping button to go back to selecting items. Prices shown include VAT. If at any time you want to check what is in your trolley, simply click on the 'my trolley' button near the top of each web page.
Minimum Order Value - There is a minimum order value of £14 (before delivery charge). Buying in multiples of 6 pots is the most efficient method (cheaper for us, you and the environment).
Proceed to checkout - Once you have put all the items you want to buy in your trolley, simply click on the 'checkout' button. This will take you to the payment area of the website. You will be invited, before paying, to view and accept our full 'terms & conditions'. To complete a purchase we will first need some of your details. This means you will need to fill in the registration page to create your own account with us. If you have previously created an account, then you simply log in as an existing customer, using your email address and password, and your details will be automatically bought up. You can update any changes yourself, for example the delivery address if you are sending a gift or a change of email address.
Paying up – We recommend that you carefully check your order before finalising your purchase, just in case! Clicking on the 'continue' button will take you through to the secure area of the site. We presently only accept payment for goods by credit card (Mastercard, Switch, Delta, and Visa) or cheque (cheques payable to 'Kirton Farm Nurseries Ltd'). For your card detail security, we use the assured secure online payment service provided by Protx. A secure link is created between your computer and the Protx computer system, your details are encrypted and the sale is completed. Protx guarantee your transaction details are kept secure and confidential. Confirmation of the secure status of the computer link, can be seen on your computer screen during the time you are entering your credit card details. A small closed padlock will appear somewhere on your screen and the web address, usually shown at the top of the screen, will start with ‘https’ instead of the usual ‘http’.

 Plant quality guarantee
Plant size at despatch will vary depending on the time of year. Many plants will be dormant, or very short in winter & early spring. During summer/autumn they will be trimmed to encourage strong growth and keep them short enough to get in the delivery containers.

We supply high quality garden plants and pack them with great care. If, in the unlikely event, you are not satisfied with the goods or they are damaged in transit just contact us within 7 days of receipt of the goods, and we will arrange replacements. We also promise to replace any plants that die in their first three months after receipt, providing we are satisfied that they were treated and planted correctly.

Hairy Health & safety notes (Yes, even here!)
Allergies: Being natural doesn't always make things perfect. There are a number of ways that some of our products can occasionally cause an allergic reaction. A small amount of organic latex is used in the pot production process to help bind the fibres of the coir pots together, this can affect some people with an allergy to latex. Some of the plants themselves can cause skin irritation, from very mild levels, to swelling and blistering in a few examples. Individual plant descriptions and pot labels will indicate any known problems. We have also found that the slightly prickly pot surface can occasionally cause minor skin irritation.
Poisonous: There  are a few plants which can be dangerous if eaten. Individual plant descriptions and pot labels will indicate any known  problems. Play it safe, as a rule do not eat our perennials, only our herbs!
Cancellations & refunds
If you cancel your order, either wholly or partially, before the goods are despatched from our nursery, you are guaranteed a full refund for all goods cancelled. You may cancel your order after it has been despatched, but only if you return the goods in the unopened and undamaged packaging they were sent in, and within 7 days of their receipt. You must return a cancelled order at your own expense. Please contact us by email at harry@hairypotplants.co.uk to obtain all returns details. You will need to acknowledge that the goods are undamaged and that you accept the risk of damage during the returning of the goods.
