Liatris spicata

Liatris spicata is a plant which produces spikes of long flower heads above strap like leaves. Strong purple flower heads are produced in the summer. In flower it will reach 60cm in height with a spread of 45cm. The different shaped leaves and distinctive spires of flowers can make a great contrast in the mixed border. Easy to grow in most soil types, especially in full sun.
